This Internship Program is run in conjunction with the larger Adelante in Sevilla program. The program begins with your arrival in Sevilla where you will live and take your first two weeks of intensive Spanish language classes. Then, the weekend after your Spanish classes end, you will take the train to Jerez de la Frontera, about an hour journey, and continue the rest of your program living and interning in Jerez.
The internship program in Jerez is exclusively concerned with working in the Education sector. Opportunities include: Teaching English, Special Education and Administration. All internships are set within the extensive campus of a partially public, partially private school that celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2008. The school is for children and young people aged 4-18 years. Training is hands on and geared towards your internship goals.
For the Special Education internship, plan on working with kids that have varying levels of autism, ADD disorder and Downs Syndrome. A background in psychology or past experience with kids is helpful.
