Intense lang... read moreThis 4 week program paves way for students to experience a month of learning or perfecting their Spanish in a local Spanish setting in San Jose. Together with an International Department of one of Costa Rica's private universities, this program will give you a strong foundation for improvement of your Spanish language skills. Intense language immersion, combined with creative assignments and curriculum, guarantee significant strides in acquisition of the Spanish language. For the Intensive Spanish Language Program you can select ONE Spanish course. Placement exams will take place to ensure you are in the correct level.
For the BEST summer value and optimum opportunity to perfect your Spanish skills, choose the 8 week program, in which you will take a 4-week intensive Spanish class at the appropriate level, followed by another 4-week class at the next level. For the first 5 weeks of your program you will also take an elective class.
A wide range of electives (taught in English) are available in the following subject areas: Art and Humanities, Business, Economics and Communication, Health and Human Development, and History, Politics and International Relations. Less

If I could do it all over again I would have requested to not have roommates because we spoke too much english, it was hard not to especially because we all were in different levels.. low, medium and intermediate. I would also make friends with the ticos early on in the program for the full cultural experience. Adelante did everything in their power to help me get there, they were extremely helpful. Read more
