UAB has 4 campuses with over 43,000 local and international students (1,100 study aboad). Study abroad students will take classes at two central campuses, Sant Pau and Sarria. Campus Sant Pau is in one of Catalonia's Modernist buildings within the 'Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau'. The neighborhood is both centrally located yet quiet, which makes it ideal for university students. The Sarria campus is in a commercial district in the northern part of central Barcelona, which is also home to many other institutes of higher education. It is just 5 minutes from Plaza Catalunya, where students can easily connect to the main campus, Bellaterra, by way of the famous Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat.
This program allows students of all Spanish levels to learn Spanish while receiving university credit for electives in areas, such as Social Sciences, Humanities, Economics and more. Electives are taught in Spanish an English. It is the responsibility of those students choosing to elect courses conducted in Spanish to determine their language capabilities.
