Youll meet with and learn from Amizades community partner since 2003, the Association of Clubs (AOC). The AOC has been recognized by the Jamaican Government for its excellence in locally-driven rural community development.
This course is an applied writing skills laboratory and a service-learning class. You will be paired up with a nonprofit community partner to produce real communication pieces. We will cover major communication tools of the public relations trade, including news releases, media advisories, features, pitch letters, fact sheets, public service announcements and more. Writing skills are learned by doing. Through this course, you will also have the opportunity to become intimately involved with the community of Petersfield, Jamaica through host family interactions, community activities and professional development.
