Auburn University - Art in Rome is an intensive study abroad summer mini-semester program led by AU Art Department faculty. Students will earn 6 credit hours while studying Roman art and architecture on location. Coursework focuses on both, hands-on art making experiences (Drawing – Rome Sketchbook studio course), and experiencing and learning about culture and history (Italian Art and Culture art history course). Students will also have access to art studios in very center of town (centro storico), where they can work on their art projects. Included in the program are two day-trips to Tivoli Gardens and Orvieto and one overnight stay in Florence. Previous knowledge of Italian language is not necessary and the program offers 16 hours of beginning Italian language instruction. Less
