good and bad
Good cultural experience, lax academic program.
I was taking History classes and the school focuses on computer science and business courses.
I'd recommend the program overall.

Al Akhawayn University - Morocco too academically rigorous
Reviewed by Lauren on .
Program was overly academically rigorous. Good pay-off, poor push for cultural exposure/immersion. Study is about knowledge of a people and a place, not facts of a language (which I studied). HORRIBLE FOOD AT THE UNIVERSITY.
I love Morocco, not the university. -
Al Akhawayn University - Morocco Loved Morocco, Hated AUI

I spent a full year at this University and learned to deal with the lack of organization and difficult rules. The first weeks of my first semester, almost everyone's registration was lost, and about 60 people got food poisoning from the Cafeteria. A couple of my professors were great, a couple were awful, most did not seem to care much, especially about exchange students.
All that being said... Morocco is a BEAUTIFUL country. Public transportation is easily accessible, and the people are warm and friendly. It changed my mindset completely to see the way people live, and the contrasts between the rich and poor.
