An ancient saying suggest it is better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books. We believe both travel and books are essential to maximizing your college education. The Baylor in Maastricht program is designed to give students the opportunity to travel and study.
Baylor in Maastricht is one of the oldest and most popular study abroad programs at Baylor. Students study through the Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of Maastricht in Maastricht, the Netherlands, insuring the best possible education in the best possible setting.
Students will choose courses taught by both Dutch professors and the accompanying Baylor program director. (All courses are taught in English.) In addition, students are also able to travel to major city centers in Western Europe, such as Amsterdam, Paris, London, Berlin, and Rome. This is provided by a 3-month Eurail pass which is good in 20 different countries: from Spain and Italy all the way to the Arctic Circle.
Even while earning 14-15 semester credit hours, students will have four-day class weeks, allowing for long travel weekends. The last few weeks of the program are also set aside for independent travel and study.
As a group semester abroad program, Baylor in Maastricht creates a unique community atmosphere. Participants will travel with other Baylor students, a graduate assistant, and a Baylor faculty member. Each semester, the program takes up to 45 students (up to 55 for the Pre-Med program). Less
