Dear study abroad offices, program providers and students,
We’ve made some big changes to our website!
We loved the old RateYourStudyAbroad.com site but after three years we felt it was time to upgrade our old look. Here’s a list of some of our new features:
• Play with the bar graphs comparing programs and providers on our Ratings Page.
• Listen to students reviewing their programs in our new Video Reviews. We’re bringing study abroad reviews to life!
• Read our Travel Writing & Photography Contest — judged by Rudy Maxa (NPR / PBS)!
• Browse all of our listings by program, program provider, country and city at our new comprehensive Browse All page
• Check out our beautiful country page photographs — our Italy Page, for example
• Review our new “Top 10” pages — showing the highest-rated programs worldwide and by country
This spring we also partnered with GoAbroad.com to vastly increase our program listings — giving our student-users access to GoAbroad.com’s 4,000+ programs. GoAbroad.com takes great pains to keep their program listings up-to-date (verifying each listing at least once per year). This excellent database is great news for students looking to research, rate and review programs on RateMyStudyAbroad.com.
We’ve also taken down all of our banner advertisements as part of our commitment to independence. We don’t want banner advertisement placements to influence our freedom to post honest, serious and fascinating reviews. We want RateMyStudyAbroad.com to remain the most compelling and useful independent student review website in study abroad.
Lastly, you may have noticed a small but important change to our URL. We’ve moved from RateYourStudyAbroad.com to RateMyStudyAbroad.com. They say brevity is the soul of wit and we feel that the shorter, more directly personal RateMyStudyAbroad.com is a more succinct way of describing who we are.
So check out our 4,000 listings, our 1,700 reviews (and counting!) and our new video reviews — and good luck researching & picking the right study abroad program for you.
Cheers,
Henry van Wagenberg, John Henry and the rest of the RateMyStudyAbroad.com Team
