Courtney Kandler is a senior Molecular and Cellular Biology major at the University of Puget Sound. She studied abroad in Spring, 2010, on a Community Health and Social Policy program based in Durban, South Africa. She snapped this photograph at a school in in a rural village called Amatikulu.

Rudy Maxa is the host of PBS‘s RudyMaxa’s World, a former Washington Post reporter and the former host of NPR‘s The Savvy Traveler. Allan Comport is a professor of art at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
