The Madrid Language and Liberal Arts Program offers a semester or academic year of study and cultural immersion in the lively and cosmopolitan city of Madrid, Spain. In addition to courses, students participate in day and weekend excursions to locations such as Granada, Cordoba, Toledo, Sevilla, and Segovia. All courses are taught by Span... read moreThe Madrid Language and Liberal Arts Program offers a semester or academic year of study and cultural immersion in the lively and cosmopolitan city of Madrid, Spain. In addition to courses, students participate in day and weekend excursions to locations such as Granada, Cordoba, Toledo, Sevilla, and Segovia. All courses are taught by Spanish faculty or the resident director. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 16 Boston University credits.
Students enroll in one of the following:
* Level I: Intensive Spanish Language Studies, for students at the intermediate level
* Level II: Advanced Language Program, for students with proficiency in the language
* Level III: University Studies Program, a direct university enrollment program for exceptional students with strong Spanish-language skills (Spring only) Less
I had a very good experience with most of the trip.
- The side trips we took were great (Seville, Toledo, Segovia).
- They were very good at accommodating housing problems (I have a lot of allergies).
- The atual academics left something to be desired. One of my two professors was horrible. The other was great. Read more
I did the Madrid Program (level 3). The academic quality in the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid is not very good. Professors are discouraged and students are not challenged. Other than that, everything was great, being in Madrid. Read more

The place is great but the administration could improve. The classes were good but just because I was at the University. Read more
I recommend it, and take the option to go to a real Spanish university, not the BU Institute, for the most interaction with native Spanish speakers. Read more
