On Semester in Florence, you will be a local in one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. Here, you'll experience:

Everyone has certain expectations when they travel and study abroad, but nothing can ever compare to the true experience. I had the best roommates, took inspiring classes, ate amazing food, saw world famous art, and visited the places I've always wanted to see. It's incredible how perfect this semester has been. Everything that was not an A did not effect my experience at all. I loved every bit of studying abroad and I will cherish the amazing memories I have from it. I learned so much about myself as a person. I gain so much insight and perspective that I will carry with me all through out life. Read more
Florence is the greatest city in the world. The people I met here and the experiences I had were truly unforgettable. I would recommend studying abroad in Florence to anyone. The size is extremely manageable but not too small (I still didn't see everything!) The restaurants are amazing, the views are absolutely gorgeous and the nightlife is fun! This is a perfect place to study abroad and I will remember it all my life. Read more
Being in Florence was incredible- I always knew that I wanted to study abroad in Italy and I'm so happy I did. I made great friends and I really loved the location of my apartment. Honestly the almost all of the courses were what you would expect from study abroad- not rigorous but fun and informative. CIS is nice because it's a small program but otherwise I felt like it didn't really matter what program you were on, Read more
Everyone on the CIS Italy team was amazing! They really helped make our program the best it could be every step of the way--from preparing us for our trip to extra trips and programs during the semester to helping us wrap up and head back home. I am SO happy I went through CIS... maybe I'll be able to do another program with them in the future! Read more
This program had the potential to be incredible, but it had many issues. Before I even left for the summer, I had picked this program because of the classes it was offering. They were cancelled and changed after my money had been paid. Following this, I was always led in circles when I had questions. Most of the time no one could give me an answer or tell me what I needed to do. Even up to the day I arrived I had no idea what I was about to be a ... Read more
My 4 week submersion into the Italian culture was unreal and I enjoyed every moment of it. I fell in love with Florence and made some amazing friends along the way. Read more
CIS did an alright job preparing me for my study abroad experience. They were very helpful when I had questions before I left for Italy but the staff in Italy did not seem readily available to help me. However, I didn't really need any help so it wasn't a problem. Read more
Being in a foreign country is just overstimulating in every way. The food tastes better, the people are interesting, you walk by historical masterpieces every day, you see beautiful and amazing things on a daily basis... the culture, the atmosphere, the possibilities while studying abroad are endless. Studying abroad opens new doors, allows you to make new, amazing friendships and you will grow as a person no matter how "grown" you think you alre... Read more

Such a great experience, I think it should be required to do study abroad. You learn to appreciate everything you and and different cultures. Don't worry about money or trying to fit it. You need to be equipped with a positive attitude and you don't wanna look back saying, "what if?!" Read more
My experience studying abroad was the most amazing experience I have ever experienced. Sure there were some downfalls along the was but essentially it's up to you to either dwell on then and miss out on the important stuff or ignore the negatives and ejoy your time abroad. I was able to really immerse myself in the Italian culture and make the most amazing friendships that I never expected to make. After arriving at home I realized that studying ... Read more
CIS was a great program who provided all the necessary information pre-departure and kept us involved in Italy through dinners and fieldtrips! Read more
I had a fantastic time abroad. The kids and staff in the program were great, and the trips they provided were awesome. I especially liked the trip to Panzano and the vineyard, those were highlights of my trip. Everyone was also there to make sure things were going ok, which I appreciate. The only thing that I would say to improve is to have stuff continuously throughout the semester; I think the last CIS led program was to the Ufizzi in early... Read more
While this program had great potential it did not live up to it. While most things worked out in the end, and I did enjoy myself immensely, there were enough problems to make me wonder if I chose the right program. Prior to departure, there were several details that had yet to be explained such as class times and meetings, housing, and other various things. I felt like I had to pick up on a lot as I went along. Throughout the program there were m... Read more

CIS is an okay program but did not prepare me well enough to go abroad. They did not inform me of certain rules at my host school and I was slightly disappointed. Read more
