Summer at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona lets you earn 6 credits in 6 weeks while living in one of Europe's most cosmopolitan cities.
Spend a summer studying at an internationally renowned university in the cultural hub of Mediterranean Europe. On Summer at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, you can soak up all that Barcelona has to offer both inside and outside the classroom. You'll experience:
* The most pristine white-sand beaches in Western Europe - Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. It's always the perfect time of year for a visit to the beach! Barcelona's beaches and boardwalks, a stone's throw from your front door, are a main attraction in the city.
* Life in the cultural capital of the Mediterranean - Barcelona is home to more UNESCO World Heritage sites than any other city in Europe. You will witness 2,000 years of architectural and cultural splendor. The numerous museums, churches, cathedrals, and concert halls, the modern art of Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso, and the influential architecture of Antonio Gaudi and Mies van der Rohe make Barcelona an aesthetically appealing destination for visitors from all over the world.
* World-class academics at one of the strongest universities in Western Europe - You will spend your summer studying at the newest, most modern branch of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The campus is located in an affluent financial and educational district in northern Barcelona.
* Accommodations that suit your style - Summer at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona provides several housing options. Live with a Spanish family, share an apartment with other international students, or live in student housing throughout the city.
* The city of Barcelona - The cafe culture, boutique shops, tapas restaurants, and world-famous nightlife will easily keep you busy for the entire summer.
* Cultural activities and excursions are included - Imagine learning a little more about the history of Spain through a cooking class, or about southern Spain's traditions while enjoying a flamenco show. Get to know the barrios of Barcelona in greater detail with small guided tours, or learn about immigration patterns affecting the city through diversity scavenger hunts. Less
CIS and the UAB program were really something that I wasn't expecting. It was not good or bad, but pleasantly different. Taking classes and living on your own in a huge city abroad is not something for the uncertain and unwilling. Attending classes while keeping up with everything going on around you is tough, but it is so worth the experience. For those who want to get a taste of the Spanish lifestyle and workings, you will find what you need an... Read more

Had a fantastic time with CISabroad! The staff were incredible, always there when you needed them, very clear, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you had all your questions answered. Housing was very clean and nice and near to several metro stops and my roommates were great! Classes were nearby and very much how I thought they would be, challenging, but not impossible! Read more

Overall, my experience while studying abroad was excellent. There were a few hiccups with the program, but the experience with the language and culture within Barcelona certainly made up for it. Read more
For a chance to roam free in a culturally rich environment while still having the security of a staff who cares, CIS Abroad delivers. And then some. The program places students in a university with other English-speaking international students, and the course material and workload still allows for plenty of time to explore the foreign landscape freely. It was nice having spare time to wander the streets on my own or with friends, talk with the lo... Read more
