I had an incredible experience interning abroad in Barcelona. I learned important skills, such as flexibility and independence, both in life and in the workplace. The program offered the perfect balance of freedom and structure. I stayed in a homestay and would recommend this for immersion purposes. One of the perks of studying abroad in Barcelona is having the beach so close! The beach is easy to get to by metro or bus no matter were you are in the city , is always booming with people, music and nearby restaurants. While I thoroughly enjoyed my entire summer and the independent nature of the program, I feel some staff are highly educated and attentive at times while others were more culturally unaware then desired. I feel there should be more thorough questionnaire about living, and for CIS being one of the more expensive programs out there, a higher percentage of the total package should go to the apartment rental.
