Internships last a minimum of 4 weeks, but we encourage you to stay as long as you can. Obviously, the longer you stay in Barcelona, the more time you will have to immerse yourself in the local culture, practice your Spanish, learn the ins and outs of your internship, and make a difference in the organization in which you are interning. Intern in Barcelona offers both professional development and the chance to soak up all that Barcelona has to offer. You will experience:
* Western Europe's most pristine white-sand beaches - Barcelona's beaches and boardwalks are a main attraction. The city enjoys a Mediterranean climate whose mild winters and hot summers make a visit to the beach perfect any time of the year.
* Life in the cultural capital of the Mediterranean - Barcelona is home to more UNESCO World Heritage sites than any other city in Europe. Imagine the architectural and cultural splendor of a city with 2,000 years of history! Numerous museums, churches, cathedrals, and concert halls, plus the influential modern art of Antonio Gaudi, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, and Mies Van der Rohe, make Barcelona an aesthetically appealing destination for visitors from all over the world.
* A custom internship placement - We understand that you probably aren't interested in traveling to Spain for an internship that involves pouring coffee and sharpening pencils. Luckily, our internships are customized. We take into account your career aspirations, hobbies, interests, and skills.
* Choose your own style of accommodation - Intern in Barcelona offers different housing options. You can live with a Spanish family or share an apartment with other international students.
* The city of Barcelona - The cafe culture, boutiques, tapas restaurants, and world- famous nightlife are enough to keep you busy for a semester.
* Cultural activities and excursions are included - We will provide you with such cultural experiences as a Catalan cooking class, a flamenco show, and the Spanish cinema. Depending on the program dates you choose, you may get to participate in a weekend trip in Spain. Possible trips include the beautiful Costa Brava, the magical Granada, or majestic Madrid. Less

This program was excellent once we got to Spain. But before Spain the communication between my home university and this university was very poor. Read more
I had an incredible experience interning abroad in Barcelona. I learned important skills, such as flexibility and independence, both in life and in the workplace. The program offered the perfect balance of freedom and structure. I stayed in a homestay and would recommend this for immersion purposes. My house mom, like many others, didn't speak English, which provided a stress-free opportunity to practice my Spanish daily. Barcelona is a truly inc... Read more
One of the perks of studying abroad in Barcelona is having the beach so close! The beach is easy to get to by metro or bus no matter were you are in the city , is always booming with people, music and nearby restaurants. I will miss the beaches of Barcelona and always remember how much fun I had there, they were a big part of my summer experience. Read more
While I thoroughly enjoyed my entire summer and the independent nature of the program, I feel some staff are highly educated and attentive at times while others were more culturally unaware then desired. I feel there should be more thorough questionnaire about living, and for CIS being one of the more expensive programs out there, a higher percentage of the total package should go to the apartment rental. Also, I felt the interview process could ... Read more
Attempting to learn a new country and their customs while working in a new environment was difficult. A great learning experience and maturation process took place in my time abroad and I am grateful for the experience. Read more
I spent 4 weeks interning in Barcelona and had a great time. My apartment was very conveniently located, the program offered lots of activities, and my internship program was relevant to my major. Overall had an incredible summer abroad. Pretty hard to have a bad time overseas if you're openminded and willing to be exposed to and try all sorts of new things. My internship was great (a new social networking site) because my boss was very flexible about work time which made traveling on weekends a lot easier. Barcelona is definitely one of the coolest cities in the world and has so much to offer from art and museums to some of the craziest n... Read more
CIS Abroad can get you the internship of your dreams! Every intern I spoke with (including myself) had an intern position with a company they loved to work for, in the field of their major. I recommend involving yourself in a culture that is very diverse from your own, for great adaptation experience. Make sure to sign up early in order to get a good apartment, with a convinient location; this will make our break your living experience! Read more
Barcelona is a great city and being able to live there for 2 months was a great experience. They were a few setbacks and that was mainly because I had too many expectations but as soon as I let those go I had a really good time. Read more
CIS was a great program to go through. They were very nice and helpful and always there to help answer any questions. They also provided a lot of fun activities that really added to the cultural experience. Read more
I enjoyed the program. You could be as involved or uninvolved as you wanted. I had no problems, but from listening to other students, if there was an issue with the job, the staff would help quickly to find a new job for the student. Read more
