Whether you're surfing at the beach, watching a movie at the Hawaii International Film Festival, enjoying the Welcome Luau, or meeting fellow students on campus, you will love your time in Hawaii. You will experience:
* Life in paradise - Spend a semester or year in a land of stunning sunsets, idyllic islands, and adventure outings galore, all within easy reach of the University.
* A Hawaiian education - Whether you study in the library or at the beach, you will appreciate the variety of classes in business administration, communication, international studies, liberal arts, natural sciences, and nursing, not to mention the small classes and world-renowned professors.
* Student diversity - Nearly 30 percent of the 8,800 students are international, representing over 100 countries. All 50 states are represented too. So you will learn not only from your professors, but also from your fellow classmates!
* Activities on and off campus - Choose to represent your class on the student government, express yourself in the creative writing club, join the surf team . . . Tons of campus groups help you meet other students.
* Small class sizes - With a low student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1 and extremely well-regarded and approachable faculty, you will receive high quality academics. And the University is an accredited US institution. Less
Studying abroad in Hawai'i is the ULTIMATE study abroad experience! Exploring the island with people from all around the world was the most incredible and exciting experience. Hawai'i offers never ending adventures, a culture bound in spreading kindness and love, and unbelievable scenery that will keep you in awe. I very much enjoyed studying abroad in Hawaii. The housing situation was awful but it was only steps away from the beach so you couldn't complain too much! I would definitely choose to study abroad again but remember you only get out what you put in! Read more
Hawaii was definitely an interesting experience. I absolutely love the weather and the cultural atmosphere! It's just so friendly! Many shop owners (outside of downtown) were very friendly and wanted to talk. It's a little busy down in Waikiki, you have everything within a bus ride away but there are LOTS of people, it's very cityish. Overall, though it was a great experience and I would love to live out here sometime in the future. :) Read more
