Join one of George Mason's most popular semester programs and spend four months next spring in Florence, Italy! Each year, a Mason faculty member and a group of students immerse themselves in all things Italian as they learn Italian, discover authentic Italian cuisine and socialize with people from around the world. Next springs program will be led by Professor David Haines from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
Classes are held at Centro Fiorenza, along the beautiful River Arno, in Florence. All students on this program take Italian language and a total of 16 credits, including a new 1 credit course, Italian Culture and Society. Much of this new course will take place outside of classroom and will include 4 separate field trips to Prato, Bologna, Greve in Chianti, and Viareggio!
Open to any undergraduate student with a minimum GPA of 2.5, who has earned 45 credit hours, including non-Mason students.
The program features:
* 16 undergraduate credits a combination of Italian language and several other courses designed especially for George Mason
* Overnight excursions to Rome, Sicily, and even 4 days in Berlin, Germany!
