Study in Beijing this summer and improve your language skills! Offering an ideal environment for acquiring and improving Chinese language skills, the IES Beijing summer program provides intensive beginner, intermediate, advanced intermediate, and Advanced level Chinese language courses.
IES Abroad's Beijing Summer program offers internship placements, enrollment in IES Abroad courses, housing in homestays and in student residence halls, regular meetings with local students as language and culture partners, and field trips in Beijing and throughout China; you will have the opportunity to meet Chinese and international students alike. Starting at the IES Abroad Center on the west campus of Beijing Foreign Studies University, you will gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world. Language instruction excellent, interactive, fun, practical. Other class quality varies. Beijing is amazing. Very interactive with local community, travel high quality, maybe a bit overprotective. Read more
If you want a lot of independence and a complete cultural immersion, the program does a good job. If you're one of those people that needs everything planned out, IES (and China) aren't for you. Read more
This program also had really awesome weekend trips to cities outside of Beijing. The trips were really well organized but there was also ample time to explore on your own. I thought the cost if the program was really fair for the amount of stuff we did and my language skills improved so much! I recommend it to anyone! Read more
Best time of your life. The work is challenging but you learn a lot. Classes are only in the morning so you have the entire afternoon/night to go out and explore Beijing. I highly recommend this program to improve your Chinese. Read more
