KCP Review

Takatsu-sensei was by far the best kanji teacher: he draws all sorts of little pictures to help students remember the meanings of the kanji. His kanji
practice method is highly effective for me. Takatsu- sensei's pictures illustrated many important grammar points.

Class was absolutely fantastic; I learned a lot at a fast rate, and I learned with people from completely different cultures. Komae-sensei is sweeter than sugar! When I had great difficulty and became frustrated, she was always very patient and reassuring. I felt very comfortable approaching her with questions. She has a very maternal feel.

The KCP program was terrific! When I first arrived I really couldn’t speak Japanese, but with all the support from KCP (especially Tanaka-san and Nakajima-san), I felt comfortable. They did everything possible to help us; everyone genuinely cared. I recommend KCP to anyone, whether absolute beginner or almost fluent, who is considering studying language in Japan.

I traveled throughout most of mainland Japan during long holiday breaks. It was really good and informative for me. It can get expensive, so plan your trip carefully.

The homestay experience is a great way to see Japanese daily life and to become a part of it. I had to give up some independence and take part in my family (including curfews, chores, etc.), but was completely worth it. For using my language, it was great.

The most valuable part of living in Japan was experiencing another culture. I compare everything I do now to how I lived there; it was very different.

I liked a lot of things about Japan—friendly people when I needed help, riding the train. I dread going back to driving again. The excellent trips were some of the best memories I have of Japan. The trip to Enoshima Island was the most eye-opening. I got to see a much deeper part of the culture there.

Coming to KCP was the best choice I could have made for schools in Japan. The administration is very helpful, the teachers all care about the students and are always available to help, and the intensity of the classes helps you prepare to interact with Japanese people daily. Of course, you have to work hard. But, if you're willing to put in the effort, you will be rewarded with a life-changing experience.

KCP - Language and Cultural Immersion in Tokyo Fantastic Experience

    Reviewed by emelco on .

KCP vastly exceeded my expectations on all levels. After taking the placement test, the teachers and staff spend a considerable amount of time talking with me to ensure that I would be placed in the appropriate level. The teachers were always very kind and patient both inside and outside the classroom. After class they would stay a few extra hours to help anyone with questions. Each teacher I had went out of his or her way to make sure that I understood what was being taught in class.

KCP also offers extra support for English speakers, so, even if one might find instruction taught in class difficult, extra help is always available.

The English support staff is awesome as well. They always hung around after class to chat with the students and make sure everything was going okay both at school and at homestay or the dorm.

Overall, I found KCP to be a fantastic experience!!
