Keele University welcomes students from universities with whom it does not operate student exchange programmes. Study Abroad students or Junior Year Abroad (JYA) students are treated in the same way as exchange or erasmus students as far as practical arrangements and academic requirements are concerned. They are guaranteed accommodation on the campus if they apply by 31 July 2004 for courses commencing in September 2004 and by 1 October for classes starting in January 2005. However, as students are not exchanged Study Abroad students are required to pay tuition fees at either the European Union or overseas rate.
