You will be considered Complutense students for the duration of your stay and will, therefore, have access to Complutense facilities, events and organizations. We will assist you in integrating with Spaniards through intercambios (language exchanges) with Spanish students learning English. If you participate during fall semester or the academic year, your time in Madrid will begin with approximately two weeks in a Spanish residence hall. The Marquette Study Center's resident director (a member of the Marquette faculty) organizes several social and cultural events in Madrid. Typical events have included an annual Thanksgiving dinner at Botin's (the oldest restaurant in the world), movies, theatre, an evening of tapas, and a flamenco demonstration. The resident director will take you on two one-day and two overnight excursions to a variety of regions and cultures in Spain. Past trips have included Asturias, Barcelona, Cordoba, La Coruna, Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Sevilla, and Toledo. Less
