A fantastic journey into the exploration of Morocco and its people.

I had never studied abroad before, but I could not have asked for a better experience than the one I had in Morocco. The accommodations were very comfortable and the food was excellent. Living in the medina is a must; it's the best way to soak up the culture. I thought that the trip was excellently planned and managed. It was great that most of the arrangements in the city were made by the study center.

    Academics

I really enjoyed the debates and conferences we had with Moroccan university students. Those occasions were far more instructive than any lecture as we could actually engage each other on the global issues of the day and get a first hand account of the perceptions and feelings of the young generation of Moroccans.

    Program Administration

Excellent organization. Always felt safe and secure.

    Living Situation

Living situation was fantastic. The house was roomy and clean with incredible rooftop views of the city. I loved being right in the medina with easy access to the souks and hamams. Possibly the best part was the authentic home cooking I got to enjoy every day.

    Cultural Immersion

The living situation described above was the perfect way to approach cultural immersion. We were actually able to observe not only the culture of the medina, but also the private dynamic of a Moroccan family at home.

    Safety

    Always felt safe.

    Food

Excellent homecooking! And the fruit is some of the best I've ever had. The orange juice is a must try!

    Social Life

I really just enjoyed the educational part of the trip, though we did venture out with some Moroccan college students we met. It was always a great time.

    Health Service

I did not personal need to use the health services. However, two of my friends did fall ill during the trip and had good things to say about the doctors they saw. They soon were on the road to good health again.

  • City Life

It's not really a specific place, but I will say that I loved a nice walk down Mohammed V Avenue on a summer evening. Things cool off and there are families out and children playing. It's a peaceful way to wind down the day.

Study Arabic Abroad with MCAS This program was excellent, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

This program couldn't have done any more to help immerse myself and my classmates in the culture of Morocco. We not only interacted with several different classes of Moroccan students but we were also able to discuss political and social issues with them during their class time. Furthermore, the students also took us around the city in their free time and showed us many of their favorite places. Our living arrangements were also fantastic, with us staying in the middle of town, amidst many other Moroccan households. Our house mom was extremely kind and answered all of our questions about the culture and daily rituals. She made us delicious food everyday and took us to the hammam daily, despite such regularity not being the norm for most Moroccan people. This program was very well organized to allow us as many educational opportunities as possible while also giving us a true sense of the culture with our housing and the amount of free time we had. I would definitely have done this trip over again, and I recommend that everyone go to Morocco through this program.

My programme was tailor made to suit my specific needs at almost zero notice. The course took me from nothing to reading, writing and speaking basic phrases inside 2 weeks. What's more the staff helped me settle in and provided personal touches above and beyond what I could have imagined.Couldn't have asked for more, I strongly recommend this institution to anyone thinking of studying in Rabat
