Learn the language and culture of Italia in the breathtaking city of Verona; a unique crossroads of ancient and modern culture dating back over 2,000 years. Within the city center exist major architectural and artistic monuments representing every period of European history. The famous tombs of the Della Scala family testify to Verona's Medieval flowering, the city's open spaces offer a pageant from the Renaissance, and Austrian battlements remain from the wars of Italian independence. In addition to exploring the various historical wonders in Verona, students will participate in a three-day study excursion to Venice, a five-day trip to Tuscany that includes Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano, and one-day trips to nearby Mantova and Lake Garda.
