Over 6,000 undergraduate students from universities and colleges throughout the United States have studied Spanish language, literature, culture, art, anthropology, politics, and cinema at NYU Madrid. NYU faculty and Spanish university professors who are recognized experts in their fields teach both language and subject courses. Students of all language levels find courses suited to their needs. Those with no previous knowledge of the language take elementary-level courses and subject courses taught in English, or they may enroll in the Fast Track Spanish for Beginners Program to raise their proficiency levels rapidly in just one semester. Students who are fluent in Spanish take all of their courses in Spanish at the NYU center or during the spring semester only, they may take up to two courses at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). I really enjoyed the warm community feel of NYU in Madrid, and the professors were excellent. I was thrilled to be taking a course on artwork of the Prado museum, and to become immersed in Spanish culture. the only part of the program I didn't like was the trips that we were required to go on at the beginning; I felt that the administration was excessive in planning them.
