A review on High School Study Abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The most exciting month of my life
I can honestly say that the month I spent on the Sol program in Argentina was the most fun and exciting month of my life. For one, I made new friends who are now among my closest friends. When you go away for a month will people you've never met, a welcoming social environment is critical; Sol provided exactly that. I was also extremely impressed with the high quality of Spanish instruction at the language institute. When I needed to move up a level in Spanish, this was not a problem at all. There is a class for every level of Spanish, and both of the teachers I had were excellent. I cannot recommend Sol more highly.

Academics
The Academia Buenos Aires, the Spanish language institute at which sol students study, is extremely professional and has very knowledgeable and personable teachers. There was never a question that couldn't be answered, nor a problem that wasn't immediately attended to.

Program Administration
All of my questions were answered and my emails responded to. The director of the program in Argentina was with us at all times, and became both our personal tour guide and our friend. She made the program as special as it was, and many of us hope to remain friends with her for years to come.

Living Situation
The home I stayed in met my eating needs perfectly—I eat meat but not pork and rarely beef. I know that other students with special dietary needs (eg, Kosher, vegetarian) were also placed with appropriate host families.
