Students in levels 3 and 4 may qualify to participate in Honors or International Baccalaureate. In the first two years, students are introduced to a wide range of vocabulary and the essentials of German grammar. In years three and four, students continue to expand their vocabulary while also honing their grammar skills and adding complex structures to their repertoire. Throughout the German program, students are immersed in the culture of the German-speaking world. Speaking and listening skills are emphasized every year, but during the last two years in particular the students also learn to express themselves in a variety of writing formats. Students participate in numerous German events (Oktoberfest, Weihnachtsfete) and language competitions during the year and have the opportunity to compete for summer and year-long scholarships to live and study in Germany. Many students participate in the school's biannual exchange to Münster, Germany. Less
