UNSW Study Abroad offers an exciting range of five-week 'Summer School' courses during the northern hemisphere summer. These 75-hour courses combine a full academic workload for credit with travel to many of Australia's unique destinations.
The first ten days of each course are set in Darwin, Australia's 'top end'. The highlight is a three-day camping expedition into Kakadu National Park viewing ancient Aboriginal rock art, crocodiles and spectacular scenery. The courses then move to various locations including Canberra, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains before meeting at the UNSW campus, located 20 minutes from downtown Sydney and five minutes from the beachside suburb of Coogee. All courses conclude in Cairns in Australia's tropical north, where students complete classes and are able to relax and participate in the wide range of adventure activities available.
Course dates: 15 June - 19 July
Credit: 6 UNSW Credits
Application deadline: Friday 23rd March
Program cost: AUS 6,300 (Price for the 6-week program includes full tuition, all accommodation, around 50% meals, all excursion travel and park entry fees, orientation programs, airport shuttle services, internet dongle [USB modem] and UNSW student card).
Airfare Package: UNSW and STA Travel in the USA have collaborated to organize a flight package for each summer school course. Packages can be viewed on the website. Less
TEAN is awesome! From the very beginning of the process, TEAN staff was always available and happy to help me get organized. It was challenging as a science major/pre-health student to go abroad because of the strict course schedule that I had to adhere to. TEAN helped me collect course syllabi so that I could get approved for study abroad. They were also willing to negotiate a payment plan with me. Essentially, they made the process run as smoot... I was able to visit multiple cities including Sydney, Darwin, Melbourne, Cairns, and the Gold Coast. While there I studied tourism and hospitality management. This program ensures you the trip of a lifetime, the academics aren't extremely tough because administrators and teachers want you to experience all that the... Read more

I really enjoyed my program. The orientation that IES put on was very comprehensive and really helped me get to know my city. I loved the university I studied at and living on campus was excellent. I made lots of Aussie friends and had lots of time to explore and travel. Read more
I had the best time. I lived on the beach for 4 months and had the freedom to travel and go out every night. The Australian people are fun and welcoming. UNSW is very nurturing and their study abroad office handles any problem that may occur. Read more
UNSW is great. DO NOT DO BUTLER, it is a huge waste of $5000. It's the worst thing ever, they charge you so much and dont do anything. It's completely unnecessary to do a program like Butler's. The UNSW study abroad office is great, very helpful. And all it costs is a $60 application fee. Read more
