Great experiences hiking the Alps and exploring Paris and other cities.

I lived with host families, but I did not enjoy my experience with my host mother. My only issue was my living situation. It wasn't bad for everybody but I just really didn't enjoy mine.

Tufts in Talloires was all things considered, a fantastic experience. The students were treated like royalty by the faculty and by the host families. The best part was the level of accessibility of the professors. They were always available to go to a cafe and philosophize for hours on end.

Awesome awesome time. Short program; they jammed a lot of information into a short time, which was great. Homestay aspect was really cool and the program went over very smoothly. Classes were in a 15th century priory, which had a lot of history attached.

Tufts European Center - Talloires The Best of Study Abroad in the French Alps

After this six week summer program, I felt that I had experienced as much culture and history as many people do on full semester programs. We had many opportunities to travel throughout the region and each of the available courses was tied to the culture or history of the area. Both French-speaking and non French-speaking students were paired with host families who gave us a true idea of life in the Haute-Savoie.

Overall, Tufts in Talloires was the perfect balance of French immersion through our living situations, course credit through our Tufts professors led course, and leisure time to travel and meet new people both from Tufts and abroad.

I loved every bit of it - how the classes connected to the region, how close I became with my family.

It was one of those programs where you don't have to do a whole semester. A six-week program in the summer, no language requirement. A lot of fun and a chance to be immersed in the culture.

Incredible experience - great for first time travelers and non-French speakers. Be very clear on your language experience/capabilities. Pictures don't do it justice.
