rigorous
Classes were rigorous and I learned a lot from them. It was hard to meet Chinese people though; I made a lot of Chinese friends through messageboards and traveling...more so than on campus.

Tufts in China This is a great program for beginning learners...

This is a great program for beginning learners of the Chinese language. With only 2 years of prior study I had enough background to survive and excel in classes to become conversationally fluent.

Great program.
The only concern is limited exposure to locals. -
Tufts in China a bit removed from Chinese culture

The program was a lot of fun, involving a lot of travel and time with other Tufts students, but we were somewhat removed from Chinese culture, living in a (comfortable) foreign student dorm. The classes were challenging but not overwhelming.

Tufts in China Good For Easy Credit Transfer, Bad For Learning Chinese

Fun program, good for TUFTS students who want an easy credit transfer, bad for learning Chinese. Too isolated, didn't meet any Chinese people, didn't noticeably improve my language.
