As the coordinator of health education programs at a major university, I was looking for a course which provided both the theory and practical skills required to successfully design curriculum for adults. My experiences at the University of Melbourne are something I will treasure. The staff here are not only exceptionally fine teachers - they also display a real spirit of concern. I've felt very much at home during my time here.

What I enjoy the most at the University is the rapport that I have with the lecturers and tutors. They are all so passionate and enthusiastic about what they teach and that has really improved my learning. Also, they are so forthcoming and generous to their students and are prepared to go beyond their duties in order to give us a more well-rounded perspective on things.

I visited Melbourne and liked the city very much. The people are friendly and laid back and there is always something to do no matter what your taste is.

Melbourne Uni also has a good reputation for Commerce. I liked the feel of the campus so I decided it would be a good idea to study here. The staff are friendly and passionate about their work, and the campus has a lot of facilities for students. The library resources are very good too.

    Reviewed by Jaya on .

I chose the University of Melbourne because of its prestige. I knew that it was one of the best and oldest universities in Australia. The fact that it was in the city of Melbourne was also a big factor in deciding to come here. I had heard that the city was very beautiful and had friendly people from many different nationalities living there - it is all true.

I was good at chemistry and maths at school and also liked biology. The Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Biomolecular) combined all these subjects so I decided to do it. It was also a new course and seemed like an exciting opportunity to do something new and different.

I have been involved in lots of activities organised by the Uni. I joined MUSEX (Melbourne University Study Abroad and Exchange Club) which organizes heaps of social events where you meet current international exchange students and Australian students who have come back from exchange.

I have joined the baseball team here at UM and last week we won the silver medal at the University Games in Brisbane. This was great because UM won the entire event so we really celebrated.

I love the social life in Melbourne. I live at International House which is fantastic - I've made so many friends there and there are events or activities on all the time. Unlike back home, you don't actually have to be good at a sport to participate - the other day I competed in an AFL (Australian Football League) match against another college - it was heaps of fun.

I live at Queen's College on the Parkville campus. It's great, only a five minute walk to school. Coming from overseas, going to college was a great idea as it helped me to make lots of friends in different courses that I would never have had a chance to meet otherwise. There is the added bonus that meals are provided, which saves lots of time.

Despite coming from an expatriate family, and having spent several years studying in a boarding school in the UK, moving to Australia was quite a big step for me, but one that I am very grateful I took. Go for it! I would never change what I've done. It's a huge investment and when you consider what else you gain from this, there is no question of its value. The whole experience has changed me. I'm more confident and wiser to the world outside of the US. Australia is a very easy transition from North America. It is foreign enough to feel new and exciting, yet familiar enough to ease you into a new lifestyle.

When I was leaving Denmark I was really excited at the prospect of meeting new people. It has been a really amazing and intense experience just because there are people here from all over the world and all different walks of life and so it is a great way to learn about other people. Everyone that I've talked to about the exchange experience says that they didn't want to go home and that a year just wasn't long enough. I know I will be really sad to leave but I know that I would love to come back and visit or hopefully work in Australia one day.
