Exchange students in the Faculty of Economics at Thammasat University will have the opportunity to study with Thai students and to take various courses relating to Thai economy and Asian countries, as well as to expose themselves to village culture and attend field trips to several historic areas.
The Tha Prachan campus of Thammasat University is located on a riverside island in the Chao Phraya River and provides a unique mix of bustling city life and calm riverside getaways. It is also within walking distance of historical sites such as the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the National Museum.
Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and by far its largest city with an estimated population of over 11 million. As one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities, Bangkok can be described as a blend between Saffron-robed monks, garish neon signs, graceful Thai architecture, spicy dishes, colorful markets, traffic jams, and a tropical climate of orchids and fruit. Because over 95% of the population in Thailand practices Theravada Buddhism, Bangkok is an interesting place to compare religions, cultures, and daily life. Less
