With class instruction in English, associated with a Dutch-language university and located in a French/Dutch bilingual city, Vesalius College offers something for everyone.
Classes are small and interactive, with no more than 25-35 students per class (sometimes as low as five or six) and personalized attention from professors. If one of your greatest attractions to the heart of Europe is to complement your academics with an internship in your field of study, Vesalius College provides you with that opportunity. The Vesalius College Internship Programme offers semester-long, unpaid, graded internships with such distinguished sponsors as NATO, the European Parliament, BBC Europe, MasterCard, and many, many more!
As any permanent student of Vesalius College, you will also have access to all the facilities at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, including libraries, computer labs, cafeterias and sports facilities. Less
My study abroad experience was without a doubt the greatest experience of my life. I had a host family that was so kind to me. My host mother was extremely helpful and hospitable and really helped in showing me around Brussels. I doubt I would have made it to class on time if she wouldn't have shown me how to use the various public transportation around Brussels. Vesalius College was extremely helpful. I really enjoyed that they took the time to ... Read more
Brussels is an amazing city with a lot to offer being the cosmopolitan center of Europe that it is. I took 2 courses at Vesalius and 2 at the University of Brussels. If you want to feel like you're actually living in an another country, go to a native school like ULB. Vesalius is mostly American study abroad students with a few travelers from other countries in the mix, and those who are full-time students really could care less about the study a... Read more
I had the time of my life in Brussels. I made so many wonderful friends that I am still close with today. Everyday was a true adventure. I became inseparable with my host family and they not only taught me about their culture and language they taught me about love, patience, friendship, and life. They have effected my life forever and made me such a stronger person. I feel so much braver, brighter, and freer after this experience. I am forever g... Read more
Vesalius college would be considered at the level of a high school compared to universities in the US. This was in no way a challenging, thought provoking, or culturally immersive experience. On the cultural side, Vesalius facilitates an ''America in Brussels'', a far cry from an immersive experience in another country. They bring the students together, roughly 70% of which are American, for events which are contained to said students, leaving l... Read more
for my first study abroad trip, I am very glad I picked the Vesalius program. The administrative staff and faculty at the school are very helpful.
Also, Brussels is a city for a safe adventurer like myself; It allowed me the cultural diversity that Europe has to offer, with the presence of many English speaking natives. Read more
I thought this program was great. The school staff and faculty are incredibly friendly and know what they are doing and talking about. Brussels is amazing and Vesalius is an awesome place. Read more
Classes were good and the teachers were great. The only thing that I wish there were more of was student activities. There weren't many VeCo-sponsored opportunities for students to socialize outside of school, unfortunately. Read more
I think that the College should put a little more effort into making the new students feel welcome and to helping them learn more about the college. I also did not feel that the academic system was very strong at this college, so it was a very relaxed learning experience. Read more
belgium is not a place i would want to revisit. although i had a wonderful internship, my classes were terrible. i didn't learn a thing and i had an american professor so as for the cultural experience, there was none. it rains everyday and is a typical dirty city. i enjoyed the experience of the internship but if i had the offer to do it again i would not take it. VeCo is not where you go to get a degree or a serious education. It is a great place to go and pick up a few credits for the summer. It's like a community college - not a serious academic university. Read more

it was a good experience for the summer. not too demanding nor very difficult given that it was the summer, so we had time to enjoy ourselves outside class. Read more
Summer school in Belgium was amazing, and better than I expected. My peers were very friendly and my professor made statistics such a fun subject to learn ( this is if maths isn't your favorite subject) Read more

i very much enjoyed Belgium and Europe and many people I had the pleasure to encounter, but the Vesalius College and my host family were below average. I am still extremely grateful for the opportunity I was given and will always cherish the four months as some of the greatest times of my life. Read more

Vesalius College is comprised of about 300 students in total. It consists of several classrooms in an office building which also houses other companies. Professors are rotating, so while you have the opportunity for a great teacher with an interesting and diverse background you may also end up with a teacher who isn't that invested in the course.
