Stay in our very own cozy ski-in Swiss chalet and come with us on a midnight hike up the mountain and torch-lit sled ride back down! This promises to be an unforgettable gnarly weekend and one your friends will be supremely jealous of.
We've booked our own Swiss ski-in chalet halfway up the mountain high up in the Swiss Alps in quaint Gimmelwald, just a gondola ride away from Murren. Do some mad carving on a few of the most extreme slopes in the world complete with breathtaking mountain views in literally every direction you look. Get ready for more overwhelming views in the dark during the midnight mountain hike (and torch-lit sled ride back down) under a clear star-studded Swiss sky. Keep your adrenaline pumping throughout the weekend by seeing the Alps from a higher point of view by skydiving or paragliding. Relax your adventure muscles in the hot tub after a day on the slopes or in the sky. All in all, this promises to be an epic weekend spent outdoors, taking full advantage of the alpine playground Switzerland offers.
Keep in mind, the most beautiful places in the world are some of the most challenging to reach, so it's very important to look into transportation connections before you book your winter wonderland adventure with us. Less
This was one of my favorites by far. It was an adventure getting there, and without WSA I wouldn't have known about this seemingly secret Swiss town. I had an amazing time paragliding my first day, skiing was great (although the snow wasn't the best), and the hostel was unforgettable. I doubt this hostel can be reserved without having to book the entire building but if it can I highly recommend that. WSA helped organize things and make it simple... Read more
Gimmelwald--where the main modes of transportation consist of sledding, skiing, and cable cars. This small village tucked up in the Swiss Alps is truly incredible. Experience all it has to offer through WSA and it will surely be something you remember for the rest of your life! Read more
Getting there was an adventure since it was so far from anywhere and high up in the mountains it took all our collective travel knowledge to get to the right place. Once there we were in a very isolated and interesting location. Wow high mountains, incredible blue clear glaciers. Wow I can go fast on wooden sleds. Read more
I loved that the itinerary was laid back and we just got to do what we wanted but there were opportunities for everyone to all hang out. Loved the destination and that is wasn't very touristy. When I walked out of the Hostel Saturday morning and the sun was shinning. I don't think I will ever see anything more beautiful. Read more
I thought that the location of the Hostel was ideal for a ski weekend! Instead of staying in the city, we were able to really indulge in the views of the mountains and enjoy what we were there to enjoy. I think that this is what sets your trip apart from other trips offered to the Swiss Alps. Right when we got off the Gondola, saw the sign for the Mountain Hostel, and realized we were staying in the ideal place. The view of the mountains across f... Read more
I thought the itinerary was perfect. It gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted during the day but then everyone was expected to come together at night to cook and clean which later ended up being everyone just hanging out and having fun together. The night hike up the mountain and the sled ride back down was definitely my "wow" moment. The hike was definitely tough but worth it. The sled ride back down was so much fun! Thank you Andy for an... Read more
Everything was planned out perfectly, and ran smoothly. Gave us lots of options, but also gave us the set time to be back and help with dinner and what time to wake up for breakfast. Going to the very top of the mountain and seeing the views was a wow moment. You could even see over the mountains. Also on our hike from Gimmelwald to Murren just seeing the change in environment and also how much a relaxed an awesome lifestyle these people must h... Read more
Planning and being in the mountains don't really co-exist- and neither does anyone want them too. In being so, I think the trip was great for giving people freedom to BE. The things regarding our daily schedule that took a lot of planning, like the night hike (and tons of other things I'm sure), were unforgettable and great destination specific experiences. The word "wow" didn't leave my mind once that entire trip. From the gondola ride up to Gim... Read more
Great itinerary. Enough time together and for us to do our own thing. Waking up and looking out the window and realizing we are literally surrounded by the snow covered Alps, pretty amazing. Great trip Andy. Read more

Parts were great, and parts were super lame. I feel like I could have had a similar experience without going through WSA. The only thing that WSA did that really made the trip unique and better than if I'd planned it myself was the midnight hike/sledding (now that was awesome). I'm glad I did the trip I just think it was not what I was expecting based on the advertisement, and it was over priced.

The Swiss Alps are absolutely amazing, I encourage everyone to travel there. Gimmelwald is a great town that is not visited by many tourists. The best part about WSA was that they showed us this great town. Without them we most likely would have gone somewhere else in Switzerland. With this being said there is not much else encouraging to say about WSA. Even though he brought food, all the food preparation was done by the group. (Probably for the... Read more
If you like skiing, the Swiss Alps are definitely for you. Most places are crowded and touristy, but Gimmelwald is an exception. If I could do it all over again, the only thing I would change is that I wouldn't waste my money on WSA. The cooking was done completely by us (although Andy Steves still managed to destroy my fondue by pouring vodka in it). The cleaning was also done completely by us and was so unorganized that every time I left my roo... Read more
The itinerary was good, but I wish it included some more activities to do in Interlaken/Gimmelwald. I know this was difficult because of the lack of snow at this time of year, but I feel like more than just ""a hike or two"" should have been prepared as a backup plan.
I wasn't really able to experience the culture in Switzerland because we were in a remote village with a bunch of college study abroad students, but I didn't mind this at all!

I loved that there wasn't really a planned itinerary for this trip. Especially since it was the weekend before finals, it was the perfect way to unwind and relax. Not having a planned itinerary besides the trip up to Gimmelwald made it easy to just soak in the views and just enjoy the Swiss Alps! Just seeing the Swiss Alps was a 'wow' moment in itself. Waking up to that view was breathtaking, and I could definitely get used to doing that every mo... Read more
