Students will have full access to the university's fitness centers, libraries, student center and all other available facilities. The program provides free assistance with opening a Chinese bank account, as well as a complimentary trip-planning service, for students who are interested in travel within China. Students may visit numerous scenic locations near Yantai, including Penglai Pavilion, a majestic city built on a cliff by the sea. Other scenic spots include Zhifu Island, Yunding Natural Landscape, and the county of Changdao. Beijing and Shanghai are both only 45 minutes by plane from Yantai.
Students will have every opportunity to experience the authentic Chinese life. While there are a fair number of international students at Yantai, by far the vast majority of the students are Chinese (25,000 domestic students study at Yantai). If your aim is to learn about the Chinese language and culture, this is the best setting to do so. Chinese students are friendly and eager to practice their English skills. Participants can easily set up a language exchange that provides a meaningful way to learn Chinese and make new friends.
The city of Yantai boasts an international airport with non-stop flights to Hong Kong, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul, as well as other destinations within China and neighboring countries.
